Dear Community Member,

The Evangelism Committee of Trinity Lutheran Church is reaching out with an opportunity to be a light during a dark season for a local family.

Kaleb and Halie Payne recently welcomed their twin boys, Marcus Daniel and Miles Graham, at just 25 weeks gestation. One week later, their sweet Marcus was welcomed into eternity with Jesus. Their son Miles remains in the NICU, fighting bravely each day. As Halie so beautifully shared, their family is holding both “an angel and a miracle.”

Miles has a long journey ahead. The days are filled with hospital monitors, medical terms, long drives, and constant prayer. While the Paynes walk through unimaginable grief, they are also holding onto hope - praying for the day they can bring Miles home.

As a church family and community, we want to tangibly surround them with love and support.

Trinity Lutheran Church will be hosting a Tricky Tray Fundraiser to help offset medical expenses, travel costs, and daily needs as they navigate this season of loss and healing. We are humbly asking local businesses and individuals to consider donating items, gift certificates, services, or themed basket contributions for this event.

Your generosity will:

  • Help ease the burden of extended NICU care
  • Support travel and daily expenses
  • Remind this family they are not walking alone
  • Reflect the love and compassion of our community

In a world that can feel heavy with darkness, the outpouring of love truly becomes a bright light. Your donation would be one of those lights.

If you would like to contribute, please contact Bob Ortbals at 573-291-3421 by April 12.

Thank you for considering partnering with us to bless the Payne family - honoring their angel, Marcus, and supporting their miracle, Miles.

With gratitude,

Bob Ortbals
